And meanwhile, the mess in Fukushima continues….

Well, for sure, the situation is not jojo, but while we celebrate Christmas, there are workers there who are probably fatally contaminated as they evacuate fuel from Pool No. 4, and I would like each of you to be fully aware of that... Besides, I would not go back over the conditions life of the Japanese, but I still don't understand why they weren't evacuated in Russia, as had been mentioned… (at least the most exposed).

Anyway, thanks to Twiggrass to have made the point.

Update 26.02.2016 : Fukushima : 5 years later, Tepco admits to having lied about the seriousness of the state of the reactors...

NRA Chairman: 'Nothing has changed on the problem of extremely radioactive waters'

Mr. Tanaka, the chairman of the NRA (Nuclear Regulation Authority), declared during the regular press conference of December 11, 2013 that for extremely radioactive waters the situation has not changed.

Tepco officially acknowledged this summer that the ever-increasing extremely radioactive water is flowing out to sea. They have tried to build an underground wall and also pump it out and so on.

Nevertheless, the extremely radioactive waters continue to increase in volume and without any control.

Mr. Tanaka said that none of the countermeasures applied had an effective enough effect. The situation is not even stabilized. Even the ALPS multi-nuclide filtration system (Advanced Liquid Processing System) cannot remove the radioactive elements from it as expected.

We still do not see the end of the problem of extremely radioactive water in the Fukushima nuclear power plant.

0,014 Bq/m³ of plutonium 239/240 in the open ocean

According to the Fukushima prefecture, they found 0,014 Bq/m³ of plutonium 239/240 in seawater.
Their report was published on December 9, 2013 by the NRA (Nuclear Regulation Authority).

The samples were taken outside the port of the Fukushima plant. We are in the middle of the Pacific.

It dates from September 19, 2013. In August, they had found 0,008 Bq/m³ in the same place too.

The credibility of their figures is doubtful but, even if their analyzes were distorted, they did detect plutonium 239/240 and that is what matters.

The link with 11-3 is not mentioned.

Tepco will protect reactor 4 from reactor 3: “Reactor 3 is too radioactive”

Tepco has decided to protect the operational floor of the reactor building 4.

They are in the process of removing the fuel from the pool of reactor 4. However, the radioactivity of “reactor 3″, which is located north of reactor 4, increases the worker exposure dose.

Tepco claims they can reduce this dose by 50-66% for workers in Reactor 4.

3 years have now passed and the real state of the interior of reactor 3 is still not established.

[Possible new leak] β radioactivity increases outside the port / Zero announcement from Tepco

According to Tepco, β radioactivity increases near a spillway outside the port of the Fukushima plant.

The data was taken to detect possible leaks from the water purification system. According to their daily report, β radioactivity (including strontium 90) has been increasing since December 11, 2013, suggesting an ongoing leak.

However, there is currently no leak announcement from Tepco.

It can be considered that the extremely high radioactivity is spreading in the Pacific. This is near where plutonium 239-240 was detected at sea last September. (cf. 0,014 Bq/m³ of plutonium 239/240 in the open ocean)

Mass-Produced Deformed Khakis in Tokyo and Saitama

Note: A series of photos had been circulating a few months ago that had been published and which had been accused of being a hoax. (Obviously, it's very disturbing)

Here is the testimony of fukushima diary:

People in Saitama and Tokyo were shocked to harvest so many deformed persimmons and posted the pictures on Twitter.
