Benalla case – “Let them come get me…”: Emmanuel Macron’s sentence makes the opposition jump…

It's really brave as a posture, when he is protected by his presidential immunity, but it is still an admission... It would be interesting to see his reaction if a few million French people took him at his word and “came to pick him up” at the Élysée…; )))))

Macron 25 07 2018

REACTIONS – Emmanuel Macron adopted a funny posture, this Tuesday evening in front of the deputies of LaREM. She did not fail to make her political adversaries react.

Long silent in the hurricane of the Benalla affair, Emmanuel Macron finally spoke this Monday evening at the House of Latin America. The declarations that the Head of State has just released are as much intended to reassure the troops in front of whom he was speaking (the deputies of the majority) as to show his muscles to the opposition. "If they want a manager, he is in front of you, he said. Let them come and get me. I answer to the French people." Obviously, the LaREM parliamentarians present appreciated it. The opposition much less, and she took it upon herself to let it be known.

First there are those who are ironic, like PS senator Laurence Rossignol or the communist Ian Brossat, deputy mayor of Paris.

Then there are those who take him at his word, like FI deputy Alexis Corbière or socialist leader Olivier Faure.

There are also those who are surprised by the public, entirely committed to the cause of Emmanuel Macron, in front of whom the president has chosen to "assume" his responsibilities, such as Senator LR Roger Karoutchi or LFI deputy Eric Coquerel:

Marine Le Pen, she points to the lack of "fair play" of the President, who is protected by the Constitution. Article 67 indicates that "the President of the Republic is not responsible for acts performed in this capacity"..

There are also those who take advantage of it to overbid, such as the mayor of Orange Jacques Bompard, but above all the deputy RN Sébastien Chenu.

Finally, there are those, like Florian Philippot, the leader of the Patriots, who take the matter with a certain gentleness...

It goes without saying that this is only the beginning.
