Purchase of American drones: the CEO of Dassault Aviation does not understand

Hello the choice between the drone Israeli Heron TP, and the American Predators... Might as well take the Predators, because anyway they already have control of our IT systems, so until they actually invest in drones...

Eric Trappier stressed that European manufacturers have the technology and are still waiting for the launch of a European program.

The purchase of American drones by France sparks controversy. And it is not the CEO of Dassault Aviation who will say the opposite. Indeed, Eric Trappier lamented it on Monday. He thus assured that European industrialists, who have the technology, are still waiting for the launch of a European program. "We are worried. Seeing the purchase of American drones without having at the same time a real launch of a European or Franco-British or Franco-German program, that cannot make us happy.", he said on the sidelines of the Ebace business aviation show in Geneva.

"At a time when we are told that we will have to make efforts, that there will be restrictions on certain (military) programs, we are told, we cannot get technology (surveillance drones) at home while it exists", he added. French Defense Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian on Sunday justified France's purchase of two surveillance drones from the United States by explaining that France had "missed the drone rendezvous" and confirmed discussions with Israel for the purchase of other devices. Explanations that do not satisfy Eric Trappier.  The CEO said he hoped "a certain francization“drones that will be purchased,”that is to say with a capacity to be operated from France and in France for frequency problems"Aerial.

He recalled that Dassault had already worked with the Israelis on the Heron TP drone and was able to Frenchify it. "This offer had been discussed at one time and is still valid“, he argued. The Minister of Defense also insisted on the need to "prepare to build new-generation drones at European level that could replace drones" which are about to be bought. Eric Trappier underlined that, on this point, no need has yet been defined. "I have not seen any common needs expressed towards us (industry) which cover German, French and British needs. This request does not exist", he commented. "If it existed, there would be no problem to make a drone between manufacturers. Bae Systems, EADS and Dassault could find common ground once the countries have issued a common requirement“, he assured, stressing that the industrialists were already discussing between them.
