Hello everyone, I hope you are well on this Thursday morning, and to start the day, a post from BFMTV, because for once the survey seems realistic, I also wanted to thank you for the votes on the selected articles, it is very appreciated; )
Reminder: a total or partial withdrawal COVID-related lockdowns could lead to a million more deaths over the next 15 years, scientists say (ZeroHedge)

The news is not reassuring at the top of the state. Nearly two weeks after its nationwide rollout, the 18 p.m. curfew does not sufficiently curb the epidemic. The virus and its variants continue to progress at a significant rate, in the words of government spokesman Gabriel Attal on Wednesday.
"Several scenarios" are therefore being studied by the executive, which can range from maintaining the curfew at 18 p.m. to “very tight confinement”. "Consultations will therefore be carried out by the Prime Minister" and new epidemiological data should allow the executive to base its decision by the end of the week. This should be stopped in the coming days but "maintaining the current framework seems unlikely", has already warned Gabriel Attal.
A feared black scenario at the top of the state
Among the various options considered, a black scenario is feared by the executive: that of strict confinement on the model of that implemented in France in the spring of 2020. In this specific case, the country could again be "put under a bell" . Bars and restaurants would obviously remain closed, as would places open to the public such as cultural venues, sports halls, or even cinemas.
Schools would be forced to close, while the Minister of Education has so far refused to consider their closure. Contrary to what happened in the fall of 2020, teleworking would be imposed in companies when possible, as in March. And this time, non-essential businesses may have no choice but to close their doors.
A third confinement would sign the return of the famous certificates during the day. The travel of French people could be strictly limited to a specific perimeter, with the exception of travel for compelling reasons (medical, family, purchases of basic necessities, etc.). Last spring, it was limited to one kilometer.
What about the opening of parks and gardens, markets, universities or places of worship? If it was finally decided in the coming days, the precise terms of a new turn of the screw should then be detailed by the government.
Opinion exhausted at the idea of a new turn of the screw
But Emmanuel Macron is determined to do everything to avoid having recourse to this radical option, because he knows that it generates serious economic and psychological consequences. The executive, which could hold a new Health Defense Council this weekend, is looking for a "point of balance", with the need to "protect the French" without however "putting the country under a bell", explained Wednesday the leader of LREM deputies Christophe Castaner, noting in passing that "students must be able to go to school".
The effectiveness of a new turn of the screw will be based on the adhesion of the French, already tested by ten and a half months of limitation of freedoms. An Elabe poll conducted for BFMTV also reveals this Wednesday that 93% of French people declare that they would not respect a new confinement, whether it is on the model of the first or the second.
A little more than half of French people (52%) would be against a new strict national confinement on the model of that of last March, against 48% of people in favor. On the other hand, the people questioned would be a little less than half (48%) to oppose a relaxed confinement, on the model of the second confinement of last November.
