Update 16.06.2016 : One in two Germans say they feel “foreign” in their country because of the presence of Muslims (Les Echos.fr)

Some cities prohibit prostitution in residential areas with schools and playgrounds for children, but not in Berlin. Here, it's just a question of defending the image of a “poor, but sexy” city. Public dissatisfaction with the city hall's tolerance of prostitution is growing, and for critics, half of Berlin has become a brothel.
Prostitution has long been part of Berlin's cityscape, but things have changed a lot, and nowadays Eastern European gangs rule the roost and send hundreds of girls onto the streets. They disembark from cars registered in Romania and Bulgaria and solicit customers near the playgrounds, carry out their tasks on the spot, then throw the used condoms into the sandboxes, under the gaze of small children, without anyone noticing. care.
The pimps watch from afar “their daughters” who work in the streets during the day and who, at night, dance on the tables. Drugs are of course very present. There would be around 2000 prostitutes in Berlin. Other cities keep them away from schools and residential areas, but not the German capital.
Advertising on the buses
The mayor, Angelika Schöttler, refused a proposal to establish exclusion zones, saying that Berlin was already doing a lot in terms of prostitution. But it would at least allow the children not to witness the exchanges.
Prostitution remains one of the city's main attractions. Recently, Berlin's biggest brothel, Artemis, has been advertising on local buses. This is suspected of human trafficking, even if the prostitutes who work there refute it.
But the real heart of prostitution is in Kurfürstenstraße, where Romanian and Bulgarian prostitutes work in inhumane conditions, abused and robbed by their pimps.
