I'll spare you this last post because it's the warming of the ocean that's causing these mega-hurricanes. We should send them the invoice for the damage caused by Irma in Saint-Martin, Saint-Barthélémy and Guadeloupe, which will be borne by the French taxpayer.
Good evening, and see you tomorrow if you don't mind.

THENGO American Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) published Thursday evening September 7 in the scientific journal climatic Change a new study showing that 90 companies are responsible for almost 50 % of temperature rise and about 30 % of sea level rise observed since the pre-industrial era.
Thus, according to UCS, the top 90 companies producing oil, gas, coal and cement are responsible for 57 % increase in atmospheric concentration in CO2, nearly 50 % of global average temperature rise, and around 30 % of mean sea level rise observed since 1880. Among these 90 companies, the 50 private companies, including Exxon, Chevron, Shell BP and Total, are responsible for 16 % of temperature rise and 11 % of sea level rise.
This study extends the one published in 2014 by Richard Heede of the Climate Accountability Institute, which had shown that these same 90 companies were responsible for approximately 63 % of cumulative emissions of CO2 from 1854 to 2010.
« We have known for a long time that fossil fuels are the main contributor to climate change. Now we also know to what extent the products of this or that company have raised temperatures and sea levels. », points out Brenda Ekwurzel, lead author of the report and director of climate science at the Union of Concerned Scientists. THEUCS believes that these companies should bear part of the gigantic costs linked to the impacts of climate change and the investments necessary for adaptation to future warming.
