INFO ZATAZ - Two young Internet users sentenced to prison and a €200.000 fine for hacking the DOFUS game. It all started in January 2010. A pirate server dedicated to the game DOFUS, from the Roubaisien publisher Ankama, is launched on the web. It attracts people, but Ankama has nothing to do with it. Summer 2010, ZATAZ.COM revealed to you that investigators specializing in cybercrime from the Lille judicial police got their hands on two northerners accused of having hacked the DOFUS game.
Maxou 1012 and Yuko, the nicknames of the two computer enthusiasts, had set up the server Kay Paradize/Arkanic, the digital space copy of the publisher Ankama. A server which, at the peak of its use, attracted 200.000 players and garnered several tens of thousands of euros via a corporate shop online proposed by their space. An amicable agreement had been attempted by Ankama, just to shut down the pirate server. The two "profiteers" will refuse and find themselves in court.
The two friends, the first, Maxime, has an electronic BEP; the second, Bertrand, is an assistant cook in a restaurant in Lille. ZATAZ.COM learned, during their judgment, that they had been able to recover, according to the Lille court, 251.718 euros thanks to this pirate server. The cook was the moderator. The electronics engineer wanted "put the first edition of DOFUS back online for the technical challenge." At least that's what he explained to Judge Reliquet. He preferred the atmosphere of the first opus, while making money spent on iPads, evenings in a nightclub... Maxime M., Maxime, 19, and Bertrand L., 20, risked five years in prison and a fine of 500.000 euros for counterfeiting in an organized gang. reprieve; Bertrand, eight months.
