Hi I hope you're fine. End of the weekend, and last straight line for me, for the delivery of my car. So I still have to do the taxi for a week. This morning I tracked this media post on Les Moutons enrages, with Belloubet who finds that the French are not adapting quickly enough. This sets the scene. In short, the casserole has been heating for years, the temperature is becoming excessive, but the French still do not see the danger. Also, I put you a little video reminder on the origin of this reform, and why the government will not give in, because he has no choice. It is Brussels that dictates its law, they obey, finger on the seam of the pants. For the majority, the pension reform is already in the past, so I think they will go to 49.3 because they are already planning their program for the future in view of the presidential elections of 2022, so what the French think about it... I don't think that's currently the concern of our government, which is taking us on a forced march towards the abyss of total liberalism, it works so well elsewhere, we can see it At Chili...
If democracy is too complex, assume dictatorship!
According to a poll carried out by the IFOP for Humanity, 67% of French people would be in favor of the organization of a referendum on the pension reform.
La highly contested pension reform has not finished crystallizing tensions. Rejected by the entire opposition, it is also unacceptable for a majority of French. At the assembly the debates are raging, and the opposition tries to obstruct the project thanks to the filing of 22.000 amendments. Meanwhile, strikes and protests continue week after week in the face of deaf ears from the government. This week, the idea of a referendum began to gain ground.
A petition calling for a referendum
Several political figures have thus launched an appeal in the newspaper l'Humanité. A petition, which is beginning to gain momentum, has thus emerged. You can moreover sign it here.
A few days later, a survey carried out by the FIFG indicated that 67% of respondents would like a referendum to be held. The figure even climbs to 84% for supporters of France Insoumise, 76% for those of the National Rally, and 69% for those close to the Socialist Party. Unsurprisingly, the figure drops below the average for Les Républicains (54%) and even becomes a minority for Walkers (45%). Each party has its own vision of democracy...
A referendum also called for by political leaders
Beyond the respondents, we also heard many politicians of all stripes calling for this referendum. For Jean-Luc Mélenchon, there is no doubt : « Either they withdraw the reform, or they propose a referendum! “Same story with the green Julien Bayou or the communist André Chassaigne: both have joined the call launched by Humanity. We also remember that in last december, Marine Le Pen was also asking for a referendum. Even for Cédric Villani, favorable to the reform, “ in the end, for this system, for these pensions to be well accepted, for the whole population to take it up, we need a referendum ».
56% of French people against the reform
According to the same poll, a good majority of French people would vote against this reform if a referendum were put in place. Among the most hostile are supporters of La France Insoumise (86%), the Socialist Party (73%), and the National Rally (66%). On the other hand, supporters of the Republicans and En Marche are very favorable to this reform (65 and 85%).
For Macronie, no question of a referendum
When it comes to defending democracy with fine words, you can always count on the members of En Marche. On the other hand, when it is necessary to take action, there are fewer people. Indeed, for the boss of the movement, Stanislas Guerini, to organize a poll is not “ irrelevant ". According to him " pension reform was at the heart of the presidential program " and not " does not require a referendum ". The deputy probably forgets that Emmanuel Macron had promised not to touch the retirement age, which will happen mechanically with thepivotal age. He also forgets that the election of a president does not necessarily mean that the majority of French people approve of all his decisions...
Too complicated for the French to vote according to Sibeth Ndiaye and MEDEF
Government spokeswoman Sibeth Ndiaye was no more favorable to this idea. For her " it's a complicated subject and answering “yes” or “no” is a bit fast ". MEDEF boss Geoffroy Roux de Bezieux said exactly the same thing. For him, this proposal is an example of political demagoguery ". He explains that " It is a complex subject, on which one cannot answer with yes or no. " before adding that the referendum " is a measure that can be applied to simple questions ».
When we know that the French have only been called upon to express themselves in a referendum on ten occasions since 1958, we can imagine that for our liberal leaders, few questions are simple enough for us to be able to ask… Moreover, during the last referendum, in 2005, the French had apparently answered incorrectly… Proof of this is that democracy is really too complicated for ordinary people. Perhaps, as our good president had suggested, we should go to dictatorship "?
