Nicolas Sarkozy, indicted for corruption, in particular, took a further step towards his return to politics, leading a violent counter-attack on justice, during his intervention, Wednesday, on the 20 p.m. news on TF1 and on Europe 1.
More than one in two French people, or 52%, was not convinced by the explanations put forward during his performance, according to a Harris Interactive poll for LCP, released Thursday. The most critical respondents naturally find themselves among left-wing supporters, 89% of whom were not convinced by his speech, and at Le Modem (74%); when those close to the right -80% and up to 94% of those of the UMP- declare themselves, on the contrary, massively won over to the cause of the ex-president.

Only one in three respondents consider the former head of state "honest" (+1 compared to October 2013), 73% "dynamic" (-2 compared to October 2013) and 40% consider that he would lead well France, if he were President of the Republic again.
The main elements put forward spontaneously by the people who judged his intervention positively revolve around the "political relentlessness", of which the latter would be a victim. Conversely, the most critical evoke the "multitude" of cases in which the former President is cited.
