163% of the expected amount of the "exceptional contribution on wealth" offered to the Ivory Coast...

As commodities continue to soar (and from what Ihave read it's not over), our government is making strategic choices for the future...

It makes no sense! France, deeply indebted, forced to borrow every year to balance its operating budget, unable to reduce its expenses enough to enter into the framework of the Maastricht agreements, forced not to replace three civil servants out of five, increasing his CSG to be able to pay his social security, forced to deduct an "exceptional contribution on wealth" which we know will eventually cost us very dearly, increasing inheritance rights, seeking to go back on his word to tax overtime, pressuring small savers, still preparing many tax avatars to the detriment of its citizens makes a “royal” gift of 3.76 billion euros to… Cote d'Ivoire!

3.76 billion euros (163% of the expected amount of the "exceptional contribution on wealth), i.e. approximately 2500 billion FCFA, this is the amount of the debt which was canceled by Paris in favor of the Ivory Coast. Yesterday, on the first day of his official visit to France, President Alassane Ouattara, the personal friend of Nicolas Sarkozy, the one who seized power thanks to French arms by waging a merciless war against his predecessor Laurent Gbagbo, member of the he Socialist International witnessed the effective signing of the agreement to cancel the debt of the Ivory Coast between the French Minister of Economy and Finance, Pierre Moscovici and his Ivorian counterpart, Charles Koffi Diby.

The French Minister of Economy and Finance, Pierre Moscovici, indicated during this signature all the " satisfied with France (sic) as to the hopes raised by this act in the growth prospects of the Ivory Coast. Indeed, he added, it is an exceptional effort by France and the will of the Government of Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault to support the Ivory Coast in its reconstruction and contribute to its development ».

Minister Diby, for his part, expressed his gratitude to France for signing this agreement. He added that the Ivorian government is committed to " optimize the budgetary margins resulting from this cancellation (to the detriment of those of France?) to strengthen its infrastructural capacities in the fields of health, education, roads and especially to reduce poverty in the Ivory Coast.

There are definitely subtleties in politics that will always elude me….
