The question always arose before the vote of confidence in the Government: who is a macronist? The answer came yesterday: 67 deputies voted against confidence in the government giving it, de facto, a majority of 88,4% ! Unheard of under the republic! You have to go back to the second empire (reign of Napoleon III) to have such a large majority!
And again, let us recognize at least that for Napoleon III: the democratization of the Regime from 1860 had brought stronger opposition to the assembly : about 16% from 1863.
Because, it should be known, in the assembly to overthrow the government, it is necessary to have the majority of the deputies with either: 289 elected members voting against, the absentees and those who abstain vote for, de facto, and they cannot ignore it!
We knew our new President supported by the financial community (which the business community quickly joined), for the media environment (whose newspapers, radios, tv are now the property of the financial community), we now know that it is supported by the entire political caste !
It does not matter that there was 51,3% abstention in the first round of the legislative elections: there again it is the highest rate since the introduction of universal suffrage in 1848. Not important that the vast majority of French people do not share Emmanuel Macron's projects and only voted for him by default: he is now the master and the political caste is rallying (well, the survivors).
That the deputies of En Marche (314) vote for this new government of Edouard Philippe, it is conceivable, that those of the Modem do the same (47), it is also logical. The constructives of the UDI and the Republicans, who de facto rallied (35), also voted for. But the others?
The PS deputies (31 survivors) largely abstained or voted for, and the Republicans (100, the largest "opposition" group in the assembly) voted against for 25 of them and 75 abstained!
So who is in opposition: the melanchonists (17), the communists (16), part of the republicans (25), Nicolas Dupont-Aignan and the FN (8).
Unfortunately, it does not weigh much! Christian Jacob, group leader of the Republicans (who could not hold his own group) said it well: the opposition is very likely to be in the street.
And that is the root of the problem, when one cannot express oneself at the polls because the election is de facto biased, one expresses oneself outside, that is to say in the Street. The oppositions that will come in the face of a new reform of the labor code or in the face of “societal” laws will certainly express themselves, not at the assembly, but in the public space!
