This Thursday, the City of Paris will present its device for video verbalization of traffic violations. About twenty agents will be behind the screens.
Safety is everyone's business. There are far too many accidents for pedestrians, cyclists and two-wheelers. Plugs don't go away. Assessment, in collaboration with the police headquarters, the City of Paris will present this Thursday, in a place of the IVe district kept secret for security reasons, its new videoverbalization device.
About twenty sworn agents of the town hall should constitute this new service. During the test phases, they raised almost 200 PV daily! Be careful with your wallet and especially your points, therefore your license.
If you block an intersection, it's 135 € fine
Among the novelties that can be verbalized by video, there is in particular the refusal of priority to a pedestrian. If you are caught with your hands in the bag, or rather your foot on the accelerator preventing a person from crossing on a protected passage, it will cost you 6 points. After two refusals, you simply no longer have a driving licence. Another new offense, if you enter a crossroads but you cannot cross it and you block traffic, it will be possible to draw up, via video, a PV of… 135 €.

But how will all of this work? The police headquarters, which has already been in this area since 2013, will keep its dedicated unit in which 22 police officers work. But it will make available to the City some 1200 cameras from its network.
To avoid duplication, police and municipal agents will share the offenses. ASPs (Paris Surveillance Agents) will have two screens. One to note the offense and the second to immediately write the report which will then arrive at your home. After the parking reform and financial windfall, here is a new source of revenue for the City.
